We’ve been meaning to write this for months now! Sorry!
Daniel and I met on Jan. 29, 2006 at the Dixie Theater while we were both working backstage on the play “The Foreigner” He thought I was the hot new girl and I thought he was the old professor! haha
In March I was his and Josiah Kennedy’s (a groomsman) backstage manager for “A Night of One Acts” Interest grew, I bagan to actually like him! A few weeks after the end of the shows, he called 3 of us and invited us to dinner to kind of celebrate the end of 2 good shows. That is when I noticed his “crush” and when mine began to grow!
I went in for the kill haha!
I sent Daniel an email thanking him for dinner, etc. then asked if I could sit in on his class. Still haven’t done that, but it kept the emails going! Dinner was on Saturday and by Tuesday we were still emailing everyday, then I had a break down about a class that night. Wednesday I got a call, something to the affect of: “I’m sorry you had such a bad night, I wish I could have been there to help you. There was too much to respond to in an email so could I take you out to dinner tonight?” His sly way of asking me out! I’d never been on a real date before so I was VERY nervous.
Since our Wednesday night out to dinner, there have been very few days that we have been apart. He knew before I did, but at that first dinner I knew I was marrying this one!
5 days later, our first kiss. 10 days after that, “I love you”
When he decided to propose, it was our 4 month anniversary. We moved a bit fast, but when you know, you know! I had no idea, we do crazy things all the time. This night we climbed about 4 stories high on top of the Dixie Theater and he cornered me(so I wouldn’t run)! He said beautiful things as we looked out over Ruston, when I turned around, he was on one knee! I said “yes!” and then asked him too many questions: “did you ask my dad? what did you say? what did he say? you aren’t joking right?” Then he reminded me that I get a ring with this deal! 10 minutes after we were engaged I got to put my ring on! I only told 3 people that night, 3 of my bridesmaids. We wanted to surprise people.
The next morning we got ready for church and drove to Bossier, I knew my parents were going to my sister and bro-in-laws sunday school class. We got to surprise them all at the same time!
So much has happened since then, it’s been great!
On March 29, we will celebrate our 1 year anniversary together!
