3 Daniel

Daniel Wayde Shockley is the most giving person I know. He works hard as a technical writer and instructor at LA Tech University. He puts everything he has into his career and other activities like Ruston Community Theatre, where he has played lead roles, supporting roles and has directed two shows. Daniel has always given me more time and attention than anything else. He makes sure I know how much he loves me and that he is my biggest fan.

When he first called and asked me out, I freaked out! I’d never been asked out before. He asked if he could come pick me up, opened every door and was a complete gentleman. When I first met him in January I didn’t like him much! He was very busy and preoccupied with the play and I mistook that for him being rude! Even at the second play I wasn’t too sure about this English professor, I could tell he was 10 times smarter than me, older than me, and I never really liked English much! (He proofread this story by the way…) So, on our first date I thought we’d have fun and I’d see him at the next play. Before the check came, when he went to the bathroom, I snuck two text messages to Stacy and Jessica (bridesmaids) telling them how perfect everything had been and that I think I liked him. I knew it was more than that.

Since that date we have seen each other all but seven days during our 5 months of dating.

On my birthday, April 24, less than one month since our first date, he bought me the camera I needed for my photography. He has been my biggest supporter and has encouraged me every step of the way. Having that camera so soon has probably started my career a year sooner than expected. Daniel never doubts me and helps however he can even though he is so busy. Don’t let him fool you, he is an amazing photographer and definitely knows more of the technical stuff than I do, he actually read the book.

Daniel is very honest, what you see is what you get. He is very much like my dad and brother. He is successful and smart, cares about his family and above all, Daniel is patient with me! He is solid, supportive, and trustworthy. He has already fallen in love with my nieces and nephew. And, now that he will be family, he has basically signed in blood that he will be a permanent staff member at Jeff’s summer youth camp! That’s the real reason Tanya and Jeff are so happy.
